A memorial service will be 5 p.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Sylvester "Toby" Evans, 60, Fairbanks, Alaska, who died April 20 at his home. The Rev. Corwin Collins will officiate.

Funeral services were April 24 at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Fairbanks, Alaska. Arrangements were by Northern Lights Mortuary in Fairbanks.

Sylvester Evans was born April 22, 1932, in Farming to John and Louise (Klassen) Evans. He married Jeanette Mauritz on May 29, 1958, in Albany and was in the U.S. Air Force 20 years before operating a janitorial business in Fairbanks.

Survivors include his wife; sons and daughters, Scott and Cindy, Fairbanks, Alaska; Debbie, Oregon; Allen, Washington; brothers and sister, Stan, Fairbanks, Alaska; Jerry and Viola, Albany; Al and Marcellus, St. Cloud; and Lee, Torrence, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ronald.
