Julius Welsch, 79, 419 Mississippi Drive, died at 10 a.m. today, He suffered a sudden heart attack and succumbed at Neal's Vacumm Cleaner Sales and Service where he had been employed for a number of years. He formerly had been employed at the H. J. Heinz Co. plant.
A life resident of Muscatine county, he was born Aug. 4, 1881, the son of Julius and Mary Phoebe Irwin Welsch.
He was married to Mary Brossart, Bessie Sylvester Hunn and Georgia Phillips.
Survivors include one son, Clarence Welsch of Muscatine; two step-sons, Paul Hunn of Muscatine and Walter Hunn of Los Angeles, California; one daughter, Mrs. Adrian Markle of Buena Vista, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Kate McElroy of Muscatine, Mrs. Bessie Cawiezell of Davenport, and Mrs. Mary Dubois of Ottumwa; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, two sisters and two daughters.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the George M. Wittich Funeral home. Burial will be at Greenwood cemetery.

Julius Welsch married Mary Brossart on Oct 20, 1903 in Muscatine. She was the daughter of Anna Brossart and Anna Grelle.
He married second Bessie Sylvester Hunn on June 9, 1921 in Rock Island. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alphonso Sylvester. Her first husband was William Hunn.
