TELEGRAM TRIBUNE--July 8th, 2014

We are sad to announce funeral arrangements for Inez "Inie" Arebalo, 89, of both Paso Robles and Santa Barbara, who died surrounded by family members Friday morning, June 27, 2014 of complications from a longstanding bout with Alzheimer's Disease at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara.

Born Inez Elisarraras in August of 1924 in Santa Margarita, Inie was often known as the life of the party. Her laughter was infectious and her laugh, one of a kind. You could hear her laugh the loudest, however, at someone who stumbled or fell! For some reason that persons stumbling misfortune just tickled her funny bone. She loved jokes, dancing and family gatherings often the hostess of many a gathering in Paso Robles at "The Ranch". She was a huge fan of Mexican bands known as "Rancheras" and often traveled to Pismo Beach to dance concerts with family members in tow.

Inie, never wanting to go alone would talk her sister-in-law, Carmen, to tag along with her much to her brother, Max's disapproval. When she was able to talk Carmen into going, thus starting a small argument between the two, she would often say, "Well, my work here is done!" and laugh her trademark laugh and head out the door with a promise to pick Carmen up later.

Forever the lover of family gatherings, where everyone was considered family. She was always there to help those in need when they needed it the most. Everyone looked forward to her famous "Pink Jello" which would be gone before you got a chance to see it.

Inez loved driving fast and big cars. A small framed woman, it was often wondered why she drove big framed cars. She would always jokingly reply, "I want a lot of metal in front of me & whatever I hit". Her favorite car was a blue 1975 Chevrolet Caprice Convertible, nicknamed, "The Blue Bullet" due to how fast she drove it. It is legendary that extra stop signs were eventually posted on Peachy Canyon Road due to her years of having free range of the area before it was filled with house after house.

Inez was married to Belisario "Bill" Arebalo on June 6, 1957 and made a wonderful home for them and their two children in Santa Barbara.

Inie is survived by her two children, Vera Arebalo of Santa Barbara and Gilbert Arebalo of Las Vegas and her brother Marcos Elisarraras and sister-in-laws Carmen Elisarraras of Paso Robles and Frances Elisarraras of Wellington, Nevada.
