Lee Durnal, 59, of Flintwood Drive, died at 1 a.m. Tuesday at Bartholomew County Hospital. He was an employee of Columbus Tool and a former employee of PECO.

Durnal was an Army veteran of Korean War, a member of the Church of Christ on 25th Street, Retarded Children's Assocation, Confederate Air Force and was past state president of National Campers and Hikers Association.

Memorials may be made to American Heart Association.

He was born in Bloomington Aug. 6, 1931, the son of Beulah M. Chitwood Durnal of Columbus and the late Ralph H. Durnal. He married Lois L. Bock on Jan. 31, 1954. She survives.

Also surviving are sons, Stan and Scott Durnal, both of Columbus; daughters, Joy Hilycord of Columbus and Jan Fancher of Martinsville; sisters, Imogene White of Seymour and Connie Hobbs of Columbus; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Steve Durnal.
