Re: CLAIR ARTHUR PETERSON
Clair was born to Alonzo "Jay" Chaplin and Eva May Young. They had four children: Glen Wallace, Dale William, Cleo and Clair Arthur Chaplin. When Jay and Eva divorced, the older two children went with their father and the younger two with their mother. Eva married Frank Peterson in 1915. Frank adopted Cleo and Clair and they took the Peterson name. Clair's birth in Beadle County, S.D., is listed in South Dakota births over 100 years, which gives the names of his parents.
