Andrew J. Long, a long-time resident of the Oxford area, husband of Rena Testerman Long, died yesterday, Sept. 22, 1963 at his home in East Nottingham Township. He was 83.

Born at Troutdale, Va., he was the son of Jarvis and Rhodie Comer Long.

Mr. Long owned and operated a farm near Rising Sun, Md., for a number of years.

Mr. and Mrs. Long celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in February of 1962.

Surviving besides his wife are three sons, Sidney H., of Bel Air, Md., Wiley E., of Newark, N.J., and Oscar A., of Oxford; five daughters, Mrs. Mary Martin, of Street, Md.; Anna L., wife of W. A. Blankenbeckler, of Stewartstown, York County; Lelia, wife of Lex W. Lucas, Keyport, N.J.; Edith J., wife of Horace W. Scott, of Oxford, and Pauline L., wife of Naze E. Wherry, of North East, Md.; two sisters, Effie, wife of Benjamin W. Blankenbeckler, of Sugar Grove, VA.; and Ida, wife of Arthur Watkins, of Troutdale, Va.; 19 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday at the Cauffman Funeral Home, Oxford, with the Rev. Chester Collins and the Rev. P. O. Gross officiating, and burial was in Oxford Cemetery.
