Mildred was the daughter of Zook and Maggie Harless Galloway and the wife of G. Raymond Brown whom she married on 3 Jan 1934. She earned a teaching degree and taught at Simpson, La., High School for several years before her marriage. She and her husband, Raymond, moved to Port Arthur, Texas about 1939 where he worked at the Texaco Refinery. When her family was grown Mildred returned to college and earned advanced education degrees. She taught physically and mentally handicaped children for many years. She had a deep and abiding faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and was an active and well loved member of the Lakeview Methodist Church in Port Arthur, Tx. She and Raymond had two children who died soon after birth and are also buried in Welcome Cemetery. Later they had two daughters, Mary Grace and Mildred Carolyn. Mildred was a most kind and gracious lady, loved dearly by her children and grandchildren and all who knew her.
