Bessie was the daughter of Zook and Maggie Harless Galloway and the wife of Byron W. Parker whom she married 16 Jan 1929. She earned a teaching degree at Normal (now Northwestern) Louisiana College in Natchitoches, La. and taught school at Simpson, La., until retiring. She was involved in many social and church activities and well loved both by her family and by neighbors throughout the Simpson community. She was a member of the Simpson Church of God and member of the order of the Eastern Star. Bessie and Byron had two sons, Robert (Bob) L., and Jimmy R.
