Bill was the son of Norman and Arvilla Meade Carroll.
He was married to Nancy McCoy Carroll. Their children were; Paul Nathan, Benny Douglas, Jesses, Brenda, Bobby Richard, and Billie.
His sisters and brothers were; Venchie Duff, Terry Franklin, Daniel Copper, Millard Joe, Homer Jordan, Benjamin Douglas Robert Edward, Lorreta Lou, Henreieta Lavon, Mary Eileen, Laura Olive, and Rose Marie.
He was a Sgt. in the U.S. Army. He Entered service in 1940 at Ft. Knox, Ky. He was in Iceland, Greenlands, Holland, England, and France. Wounded in action in Normandy, Wounded the second time in France. He was awarded the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, Bronze Star. There in France he married Maria Louise Barber Carroll. This was his first wife no children out of this marrage.
He is the grandson of James Cecil and Margert Rose Hunter Meade and John Clark and Jettie Malvina Burke Carroll.
