He was married to Nancy McCoy Carroll. Their children were; Paul Nathan, Benny Douglas, Jesses, Brenda, Bobby Richard, and Billie.

Wounded in action in Normandy, Wounded the second time in France. He was awarded the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, Bronze Star. There in France he married Maria Louise Barber Carroll. This was his first wife no children out of this marrage.
He is the grandson of James Cecil and Margert Rose Hunter Meade and John Clark and Jettie Malvina Burke Carroll.
