He leaves to honor his loving memory and mourn his passing his brothers; Venchie Duff, Terry Franklin, Daniel Cooper, Miller Joe, Homer Jordan, Benjamin Douglas and Robert Edward. Sisters; Lorreta Lou, Henreieta Lavon, Mary Eileen, Laura Olive, Rose Marie.
Also his loving wife Arlen Varnery Carroll, his children Norman, Leah Ann, Edward, and Timmy.

He served his country in the U.S. Army as Private First Class, Nov 1942. Ft. Thomas, Ky; England; France; Belgium; Holland; Germany. Awarded Silver Star. Attended Matewan High School.
