Funeral services for Joyce Nell (Laird) Reeves will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 30, 2014, in the Christ Church of Oakdale with the Pastor Greg Willis and Amber Corliss officiating. Committal service will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery under the guidance of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale.

Joyce, 71, of Oakdale, entered eternal rest Monday, April 28, 2014 in her residence with her devoted family by her side. She was born on January 25, 1943 in Oakdale to the union of Christopher Columbus and Ellen Lenore (Strother) Laird. Joyce was a graduate of Oakdale High School. She was a licensed cosmetologist. She was a member of Christ Church. Joyce was a cherished mother, strong sister, spoiling grandmother, extra spoiling great grandmother, and a sweet aunt and giving friend.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Annie Mae Kertz; and two brothers, John Laird and Alvin Laird.

She leaves behind her loving family to cherish her memory, two daughters, Pamela (Moore) Strother (Harold Darbonne) and Paula (Moore) Corliss (Michael) all of Oakdale; one son, Patrick Moore (Tammy) of Mittie; two brothers, Noah Laird and Wayne Laird both of Oakdale; two sisters, Louise Johnson of Pineville and Eloise Quave of Oakdale; eleven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers to serve will be Christopher Kevin Fournerat, John Edward Strother, II, Michael Patrick Strother, Tyler Jordan Strother, Patrick Reed Moore, Carlos Darnell Johnson, Todd Heath Laird, and Mark Glenn Shanks. Honorary pallbearer to serve will be Danny Tyler Cassels.

Visitation will begin today, April 29, 2014 from 5 p.m. until service time at the church on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at 2 p.m.
