Funeral services for Alvin, Lee "Buster" Laird will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 13, 2011 in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel. The Revs. Alfred Kennedy and Charles Robinson will officiate. The U.S. Air Force will conduct military rites. Committal service will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery under the guidance of White Oaks, Oakdale.

Buster, 83, of Oakdale, entered eternal rest on Saturday, December 10, 2011 in the John Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home in Arnaudville.

He was born on July 23, 1928 in Oakdale to Christopher Laird and Ellen Lenora Strother Laird. He was a member of the Oak Hill Community Baptist Church, a veteran of the United States Air Force serving in the Korean Conflict, and a carpenter by trade. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend.

His parents; one brother, John Nathan Laird; one sister, Annie Mae Laird Kurtz; and one daughter, Diane Laird precedes him in death.

He leaves behind his loving family to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife, Louise Dixon Laird of Oakdale; two sons, Marshall Laird and Chris Laird both of Marysville, Washington; two daughters, Brenda Laird and Linda Laird both of Marysville, Washington; two step-sons, Earl Marshall, Jr. of Darlington, South Carolina, and Billy Marshall of Colfax; one step-daughter, Diona Kelley of Conroe, Texas; two brothers, Noah Laird and Wayne Laird both of Oakdale; three sisters, Elouise Laird Quave of Oakdale, Louise Laird Johnson of Oberlin, and Joyce Nell Laird Reese of Oakdale; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of niece, nephews, and friends.
