James Thomas Aday, 68, of Cherokee, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008. Mr. Aday was a devoted and faithful Christian, member and song leader of Red Rock Church of Christ. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy J. Aday, of Cherokee; sons, Spencer Thomas Aday (Kathryn) and Christopher H. Aday, all of Muscle Shoals; daughter, Jacqui Horton (Allen), of Leighton; brothers Billy, Jack, John, Russell, Ernie and George Aday; sisters, Faye Wilkes, Barbara Jones, Brenda Jackson and Bessie Speegle; grandchildren, Erica Williams, of Muscle Shoals, Neal and Deanna Horton, of Leighton; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Orville, Howard and Burford Aday, and sister, Virginia Gasque.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Red Rock Church of Christ. Mr. Aday will lie in state one hour before the service. Burial will follow in Cherokee Memorial Park. David Conley and Wayne West will officiate.
