The Oklahoman, Sunday, Apr 10, 1966: A longtime city resident, Mrs Lucy Whiteside, 66, of 414 1/2 N Geary, died Thursday at a local hospital. Services will be 1 pm Monday in Tabernacle Baptist Church with burial in Trice Hill Cemetery directed by Rolfe Funeral Home.
Mrs Whiteside was a native of Memphis, TN, and had lived in Oklahoma City the last 50 years. Despite the loss of both legs, she had been a seamstress and formerly had sung in the Tabernacle Baptist Church, where she was a longtime member. She also belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs Alma Cooper, Kansas City, and Mrs Leona Wade, Cleveland, OH.
