Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Associated Church in Hawarden with Rev. Rick Kargard officiating. Burial will be in the Grace Hill Cemetery at Hawarden. Visitation will begin at noon on Sunday with family present from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden.
Naomie Maurine Schwiesow was born April 12, 1917, daughter of Marvin S. and Elsie (Garke) Waterman, in Union County, South Dakota. She spent her childhood in Union County and married Henry J.D. Schwiesow in 1938 in Canton, S.D. After their marriage they made their home in Hawarden. Naomi worked at the Panske Nursing Home in Hawarden for many years. She loved her home and her family.
Henry died on Jan. 13, 1983. Naomi has been a resident of the Hillcrest Health Care Center since 1998.
Survivors include five children: Dorothy Heintz and husband Max, Nevada, Iowa; Jim Schwiesow and wife Ingrid, Orange City, Iowa; Marcene Ludwigs and husband Les, Ireton, Iowa; Kent Schwiesow and wife Pam, Le Mars, Iowa; and Mel Schwiesow, Ireton; 22 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter Patty, three grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, four sisters: Opal, Frances, Audrey and Wanda; and six brothers: Leland, Raymond, Merlyn, Kurt, Nolan and Wayne.
