Services were at 1:30 p.m., Monday at Associated Church of Hawarden. The Rev. Fredrich Mellberg officiated. Burial was at Grace Hill Cemetery under direction of Dow Funeral Home.
Mr. Schwiesow was born on Sept. 10, 1907, in Plymouth County. He lived in the Hawarden area most of his life. He owned and operated service stations in Hawarden and was a member of the Hawarden Police Department from 1962 until his retirement in 1970. He married Naomi Waterman in 1938 at Canton, S.D.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Jim of Orange City; Kent of LeMars and Mel of Ireton; a daughter, Mrs. Leslie (Marcene) Ludwigs of Ireton and a step-daughter, Dorothy Heintz of Nevada; 10 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; two brothers, Elmer of Ponca, Neb, and William of Mesa, Ariz.; two sisters, Mildrend Banghart of Burbank, Calif., and Irene Peterson of Jackson, Neb.
