Funeral services for Marvin S. Waterman, 93, who died at home Thursday, May 22, were held Saturday afternoon, May 24, at Dow Funeral Home with Rev. Herbert Young officiating. Burial was in Grace Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Hal Shoemaker was organist, and Mrs. Ralph Gregg sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Rock of Ages." Casket bearers were Jim Schwiesow, Rolan Waterman, Charles Blankenship, Gary Waterman, Keith Waterman, and Marvin Waterman.

Mr. Waterman was born February 26, 1876, in Louis county, Missouri. He married Elsie Garkie June 18, 1901, in Le Grange, Missouri. He had re-sided in the Hawarden area since his marriage.

Preceding him in death were his wife; two sons, Leland and Wayne; one daughter, Mrs. George (Wanda) Heyl, and three brothers.

He is survived by four sons, Nolan of Le Grand, Curtis and Raymond, both of Waterloo, and Merlyn of Hawarden; four daughters, Mrs. Henry (Opal) Rankin of Laurens, Mrs. Norman (Frances) Droege of Anaheim, California, and Mrs. Audrey Brice and Mrs. Henry (Naomi) Schwiesow, both of Hawarden; four sisters, about 65 grandchildren; 100 great-grandchildren, and some great, great grandchildren.
