Raymond Waterman, 86, of Laurel died of a heart ailment at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center in Marshalltown. Services at Laurel United Methodist Church, burial in Graceland Cemetery, rural Laurel.

Mr. Waterman was born in Sioux County and had lived in Waterloo 22 years before moving to Laurel six weeks ago. He was a retired road construction worker.

He is survived by his wife Erma of Waterloo; six daughters, Shirley Quinn of Waterloo, Betty Wilson, Donna Sietmann, and Sharon Schnathorst, all of Laurel, Patty DeGraw of Anaheim California, and Carla Bunger of Dysart, Iowa; a son Craig Taylor of Kansas City, Missouri; a brother Craig Taylor of Kansas City, Missouri; two sisters, Naomi Schweisow and Audrey Brice , both of Hawarden; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
