Laura Shoales Wales was born and married in Plymouth, Chenango Co., N.Y. She had all of her eight children there. She was married to Frederick Clark Wales on March 7, 1843. Their eight children were: Genora Wales Morefield, Edgar Wales, Adaresta Wales Farrar, Elton Wales, Eli Wales, Alice Wales Dunlap, Walter Wales and Arthur Wales. Seven of these eight children gave Laura and Frederick twenty-four grandchildren.
