A memorial service will be held for Carol Varner at 5 P.M. on Thursday, September 6, 2012, at the Fairchild Chapel, Lorain St., between Main and Professor St. (next door to First Church), on Oberlin College campus. She died at Lorain Community Hospital Wednesday, August 15, 2012. Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Elyria, assisted the family.
Carol worked for many years as a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service. She was born in West Virginia, but lived most of her life in northern Ohio, first in Elyria, then Oberlin for the last 20 years.
Carol is survived by a daughter, Bev of Elyria; and a son, Greg of Washington ( D.C.).
