Catherine -- Jacob A. Schmidt, 88, Catherine, died Saturday night at St. Anthony Hospital.

He is survived by three sons, Al of Council Grove, James of Sullivan, and Harold of Topeka; seven daughters, Mrs. Tina Mathes, Catherine, Mrs. Helen Bordecker, Topeka, Mrs. L. E. (Earnestine) Anderson, Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Frieda Boies, Chula Vista, Calif., Mrs. Alfred (Lydia) Brull, Hays, Mrs. Alfred (Anita) Stang, Victoria, and Mrs. Emory (Dora Lee) Robertson, Las Vegas; 24 grandchildren and 10 great-grandhchildren. Also surviving are one brother, Frank of Catherine; and one sister, Mrs. Martin Wasinger, Hays.

The body will lie in state at Brock's North Hill Chapel until service time at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Catherine's Catholic Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A parish wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Brock's North Hill Chapel, followed by a Victoria Circle D of I rosary.
