Note: I was a seventh grader on November 24, 1952. We were playing ball on the playground west of Raywick Elementary School when we went to retrieve a ball that had gone part of the way off the bluff of Prather's Creek, about 60 feet below the schoolyard. We boys were astounded to see a dead body. We told the teachers and they sent a boy to tell Mr. Blandford and Mr. Mann at the nearby store so that they could notify the coroner. The coroner ruled his death, accidental.
