Esther Alles

Esther W. Alles, 79, of Greeley died Monday, March 4, at Bonell Good Samaritan Center.

Mrs. Alles was born Dec. 12, 1916, in La Salle to Emanuel and Anna Elizabeth (Estreich) Weibert and at the age of 2 moved with her family to Gill, where she attended school.

On Dec. 16, 1936, she married Daniel Alles in Greeley. In 1937, she moved with her husband to a farm east of Greeley. They farmed and had a dairy until her husband's death on March 12, 1967.

In 1968, Mrs. Alles moved to Greeley. She was employed at the University of Northern Colorado on housekeeping. She also helped several catering businesses and was worked as a housekeeper in several residences.

Mrs. Alles was a member of the First Congregational Church, the Centennial State Chapter of Embroiderers Guild of America, the Rocky Mountain Depression Glass Society, the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia, and the Amico Club. She was a past president of the Ladies Aid of St. Paul's Congregational Church and a former Auburn District School Board member. She enjoyed crafts and cooking and was a sports fan.

Survivors are a daughter, Carolyn Kammerzell of Milliken; a son, Gary Alles of Greeley; three sisters, Elha Hoff, Kathleen Feuerstein and Marie Krieger, all of Greeley; four brothers, Emanuel Weibert of Weldona, John Weibert of Longmont, Herman Weibert of Wiggins and Alex Scheetz of Greeley; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Clearence Weibert and Fred Scheetz, are deceased.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First Congregational Church. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church or to Bonell Good Samaritan Center, in care of Adamson Mortuary.
