Ella married Herman Hoff on March 24, 1946 at St. Paul's Congregational Church in Greeley, and he passed away on August 12, 1987.
She graduated from Gill High School in 1937 and lived in the Gill and Greeley area her entire life. During their married life, she spent 19 years on the farm. Mrs. Hoff worked at Montgomery Wards and at UNC in the housekeeping department before retiring in 1981.
After their retirement, Herman and Ella were custodians at St. Paul's Congregational Church for four years. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's, helped serve lunches at the Rec Center for service clubs in Greeley, and was a member of the Ladies Aid and Quilting Guild at St. Paul's.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, noodle making, quilting and crocheting. She was a sports fan and enjoyed watching her grandchildren participating in their activities as well as watching the Broncos and Rockies.
She is survived by her son and daughter; brother, John Weibert of Longmont; 5 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m, Monday, September 15, 2008. A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m, Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at St. Paul's Congregational Church. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 702 13th Street, Greeley, CO 80631.
