Tom attended University School in Bloomington.
He enjoyed a wide variety of jobs throughout his life. At a very young age he set pins up at a local bowling alley. At Bloomington Packing company he learned his trade as a meat cutter. He worked as a butcher at Eisner's, Schneiders Meat Market and Hays market. He worked as a security guard at both Fourwinds and later in life at Meadoowood. He worked at Indiana vendors and ultimately worked at the Eagles Lodge as a janitor, Club Secretary, and Manager. Tom also enjoyed being in the outdoors and helped numerous neighbors and friends bush hogging their fields and pastures.
Tom attended Crossroads Community Church on South 37 where he was saved and baptized.
On December 19, 1959 he married Ramona A. Helton at his sisters in Nashville, Indiana. He and Ramona renewed their marriage vows in 2009 to celebrate their 50 years of married life together.
Tom is survived by his wife Ramona Ann Helton Stone of Springville; three sons Michael E. Stone and Cindi; Thomas B. Stone and Sheila; Rodney D. Stone and Mary; daughter in law Catherine Ann Stone; three grand daughters Tiffany Megan, Samantha Ann, and Abigail Marie; sisters Linda Grow and Gary; Sharon Southern; and Janet Huddleston and Richard; brothers Michael Stone; Harvey Stone and Teresa; and Bill Stone and Cherie; and step brother Granville Stone of Illinois. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Betty Stevens, and Patricia Huddleston, and a brother Donald "Duke" Stone.
