Services for Donald L. Nation, 71, of Waterloo, IA, were held Monday, March 13, 1989, at Garden View Chapel in Waterloo, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Mr. Nation died at his home on Thursday, March 9, 1989.

He was born February 15, 1918, in Tama County, the son of Walter and Bessie (Powell) Nation. On October 10, 1941, he was married to Dorothy A. Carr in Lancaster, Mo. Mr. Nation was employed by the city of Waterloo in the Water Pollution Control Department for 28 years, retiring in 1979. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving his country during World War II from 1941 to 1945.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy, of the Cedar Falls Health Care Center; a son, Gary, of Grundy Center; two daughters, Deborah J. Dolash of Cedar Rapids and Patricia A. Ratcliff of Sanger, Texas; one brother, Roger Nation of Traer and two sisters, Dorothy Philp of Traer and Bernice Johannsen of LaPorte City; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bryce, Archie and Dale and a sister, Ersel.
