Dies at Trigg County Hospital Following a Brief Illness
Dallas Dalton Cook, age 68, died at 8:15 pm, Sunday, July 23, at Trigg County Hospital following a brief illness. He was admitted to the hospital Friday, July 21.
Mr. Cook was a native of Stewart County, Tenn., and was born NOvember 6, 1898, the son of Mrs. Arminta Spiceland Cook and the late John James Cook. He was married October 11, 1930 to the former Henry Frances Outland, and she survives.
A resident of Route 1, Cadiz, Mr. Cook was a retired farmer and a member of Rocky Ridge Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held at Goodwin Funeral Home, Wednesday, July 26, at 4 pm. The Rev. Randolph Allen officiated. Riley Bailey, Bill Outland and Mrs. Homer Outland with Mrs. Sannie Bentley, organist, had charge of the music.
Burial was in Lawrence Cemetery.
In addition to his wife, Mrs. Henry Fances Cook, he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Arminta S Cook; seven sons, Glennis Cook, Round Lake, Ill.; Bobby Cook, US Air Force, Belleville, Ill.; Darrell Cook, US Air Force, Italy; Raymond Cook, Washington, DC; Donald Cook, US Army, Madison, Wisc.; Leslie Cook and Howard Cook, of the home; a daughter, Mrs. John Hicks, Cadiz; three brothers, T E Cook, Paducah; Forrest Cook, Route 2, Cadiz; Lelannd Cook, Princeton; and a sister, Mrs. Noble Allen, Trigg COunty; and 13 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Cecil Carr, Marshall Noel, Douglas Wadlington, Jeff Gibbs, Dorris Terrell and Glenn Allen. Honorary pallbearers were Reginald Wadlington, Wade Wadlington, Thomas Mize, Will Mize, and Clovis Noel.
