He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis (Chehi) Denning; parents, Les and Ethel Denning of West Portsmouth; eight siblings, Elizabeth Eulitt, Olive Ratliff, Mary Spurlock, Harold, Darrell, Charles, George and Wayne Denning.
He is survived by children, Judy (Jeff) Conklin of Cable and Gerica Bright of Springfield; five grandchildren, Logan Conklin, Josh Conklin, Garrett Conklin, Phylicia Goodwin and Abigail Goodwin; and siblings, Eleanor Montgomery of Hilliard, Ethel Louise Hicks of New Haven, Ind., Betty Rawlings of Wildwood, Fla., Paul (Helen) Denning of Minford, Herbert (JoAnn) Denning of West Portsmouth and Ralph (Janet) Denning of Payne.
Gerald was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army from 1958-1960.
A memorial service is at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Chapel Church, 500 Linden Ave., West Liberty. A graveside service follows at Highland Memorial Cemetery 5591 US HWY 68 S. West Liberty.
