Leslie Denning, 83

Leslie Wayne Denning, 83, of West Portsmouth, died Saturday, Dec. 5, 1998, at home.
He was born Dec. 9, 1914, in West Portsmouth, a son of the late Leslie Royal and Ethel Hill Denning. He was a World War II Army veteran, an employee of the former Williams Manufacturing Company, Mertz Construction and Howard Hamilton Garage.
Surviving are four brothers, Herbert Denning of West Portsmouth, Paul Denning of Minford, Ralph Denning of Payne and Jerry Denning of Newark; three sisters, Elnora Montgomery of Hilliard, Betty Rollins of Sunbury and Ethel Hicks of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and many nephews and nieces.
He also was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles, Harold, Darrell, and George Denning; and three sisters, Mary Spurlock, Elizabeth Eulett and Olive Ratliff.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth, with the Rev. Rick Ratliff officiating, and interment in Scioto Burial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday.
