George Simon was my great great grandfather.
He was born in Virginia/West Virginia in 1806.
He joined in marriage on March 9, 1837 with Celia Reger, the daughter of Abram Reger and Leah Anne Brake Reger. Their "marriage bond" states that "Benjamin F. Sedwich, a minister of the Gospel, of the Methodist E. Church in Barbour County, VA" performed the ceremony.
Six children were born from their union:
1. Letha Elizabeth Simon Sargent (married Jacob Monrow Sargent)
2. Jacob Elam Simon (married Frances Curl)
*** Jacob was my great grandfather, a soldier in the Civil War. He was born in 1842 in Lewis Co, VA and died in 1892 @ Oronogo, MO.
3. Permelia Rebecca Simon Camp (married Matthew Wallace Camp)
4. Abram Reger Simon (married Mary Jane Wine)
5. Mary Simon (never married)
6. John A. Simon (married Louisa C. Daniels)
During the 1870 census, George & Celia, along with sons Jacob & Abram were living at North Salem Township, Linn Co, Mo. I believe, and this is from years of my personal research, that both were dead by 1873 and are buried in Linn Co, Mo.
