Mary had another daughter Louisa M. Lockwood born in 1858 who was 4 years old when her mother died and 13 when her father William died. This daughter most likely is Lillie H Lockwood Hill who is buried in Umpawaug Cemetery Redding CT. Mary's husband William appears to have remarried about 1863 to Mary E. Plumb (?) and had 2 more children. They as well as their mother are buried in St. Matthews Parish Cemetery in Wilton, CT. Lillie is mentioned in her father's will. It's not improbable that Louisa and Lillie are one in the same. Her guardian was her Uncle George W. Curtis who was her mother Mary Curtis Lockwood's brother. George is mentioned in William Lockwood's probate papers in connection with Lillie along with children Willie P. and Irene A. Lockwood. In Estate papers for Lillie's guardianship, land that was sold on her behalf referenced Stephen Curtis and his heirs one of which is Lillie's mother Mary Curtis. Stephen Curtis was Lillie's grandfather. She inherited her mother's portion of his estate upon her mother's death. One explanation for her name discrepancy can be error on the part of the 1860 census enumerator. This researcher is confident that Louisa M Lockwood is Lillian Henrietta Lockwood daughter of Mary Curtis Lockwood and William Lockwood.

Lillie H. Lockwood Hill
Louisa M Lockwood may have been the namesake of her father Williams first wife Mary Louisa which has not been documented yet but the research is lining up. For whatever reason her name had to have been changed as the only time she is documented as Louisa M is in the 1860 census after that she is Lillie H. Lockwood.
