Evelyn Reynolds Jones Hall, 86, of Salem, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 4, 1997. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Forest (Billy) Jones; her parents, Pearl May and John Lee Reynolds Sr., and three brothers, John Jr., Frank and Randolph (Ranny). She is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Roscoe Hall, and her daughter, Betty Jones Rice of Baltimore, Md.; four sisters, Charlotte Walker of Phoenixville, Pa., Mozelle Dobyns, Winsloe Thurman and Juanita Reynolds of Salem, and two brothers, J. S. Reynolds Sr. of Salem and Calvin Reynolds of Vinton. She was a longtime faithful member of Melrose Christian Church, where she was Sunday school superintendent for 35 years. She taught in the Primary Department and served as a Deaconess, as well as on various committees. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 1997, at Lotz Salem Chapel, with Dr. Norman Witthuhn and Dr. George K. Bowers officiating, and music by the Rev. Terry Willis. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please memorial donations to Good Samaritan Hospice or Melrose Christian Church. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, July 7, at Lotz Salem Chapel.
