Calvin William Reynolds, 87, of Vinton went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 2, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer and injuries from World War II. He served in the United States Army during World War II and the Normandy Invasion. He was the recipient of the Purple Hears, Bronze Star and Oak Leaf Cluster. He retired from White Foundry after 30 years service. He was a faithful member of Lynn Haven Baptist Church.
He was born on December 9, 1924 in Salem, Virginia to the late John and Pearl Reynolds. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Schoolcraft, John, Frank and Randy Reynolds and four sisters, Charlotte Walker, Evelyn Hall, Winsloe Thurman and Juanita Reynolds.
Those left to cherish him memories are his loving and devoted wife of 27 years, Shirley Reynolds, one daughter Margaret Ann Hodge of Atlanta; three sons, Ronald (Yvonne) and Keith Reynolds of Salem and Phil (Lou)Reynolds of Nashville, TN; two step sons Jeffrey (Mechelle) and Barry (Carrie) Robertson of Vinton; nine grandchildren, Elizabeth Hodge, Mary Margaret, Rachel, Brad, Wes, Keith, Jr., Benjamin, Philip and Christopher Reynolds and four step grandchildren, May Ann, Timberly Marie, Ashlie and Chad Robertson; six great grandchildren; one sister, Mozelle Dobyns and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. His life was focused on giving and helping other people.
Funeral services will be conducted at Lynn Haven Baptist Church at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, November 5, 2012 with Dr. Michael Wrye officiating. He will be buried at Mountain View Cemetery in Vinton, VA
