Funeral services for Maty Gertrude Bergman, 90, of Newark were held Tuesday, July 27, at 2.-00 p.m., in the Newark Christian Church. The Rev. Leland Beck at Canton officiated. Burial was in the IOOF Cemetery at Newark.
Music for the service was provided by Mrs. Carol Davis and Mrs. Virginia Green. Casketbearers were Leon Franks, Bob Franks, George Stokes, Dick Boone, Boone Hawkins and Dennis Buswell.
Mrs. Bergman died at 8:45 a.m., Saturday, July 24, 1976, in Prairie View Rest Home at Lewistown. She was born in Knox County, Mo., Oct 10, 1885, a daughter of James and Nancy Plunkett Boone. She married Leonard Bergman in Newark Jan. 26, 1903. He died in 1961.
Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Edith Hawkins of Bethel, Mrs. Flossie Anderson of Steffenville and Mrs. Rose Jones of Ferndale, Wash.
She was preceded in death by four sisters and a brother.
The Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle was in charge of arrangments.
