Died at Newark.
Mrs. Elmina Bentley, an old and respected citizen, died at her home in Newark Monday, September 12, after a short illness.
Funeral services were held at the home Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 by the Methodist pastor of LaBelle, after which she was laid to rest in the Odd Fellows cemetery beside her companion who preceded her a few years ago.
The Rebekah Lodge performed the funeral rites at the cemetery.
Mrs. Bentley leaves to mourn her death eight children: Mrs. Edith Waterbury, of Wichita; Mrs. Fannie Abbott, Mrs. Zora Scofield, Ben, John, and Rufus of Newark; also fifteen grandchildren, one great grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Johnson of Kirksville; two brothers, Bub and Bird and a host of friends.
Mrs. Bentley was a good Christian mother, sister and friend. May the family look to their mother's God for comfort.—A Friend.

Newark Woman Dead
Mrs. Elmlna Bently, 65 years old, died Monday at her home in Newark. Funeral services were conducted at the home by Rev. T. K. Holland of LaBelle, and at the grave by the Rebecca lodge, of which she had been a member seventeen years. She is survived by eight children: Mrs. Fanny Abbett, Mrs. Harry Schofield and Rufus Bently of Newark; Mrs. William Ashford of Knox County, Mrs. Carl Watteberry of Wichita, Kans. and Benjamin, John and Edgar Bently, who lived at home with their mother.
Seventeen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Minnie Johnson, and two brothers, Bird Blanchard of Kirksvllle and "Bud" Blanchard of LaPlata, also a half brother, Andy, of Trenton, also survlve. Mrs. Bently was born March 13, 1856, and was Miss Elmina Blanchard before her marriage on May 30, 1875, to Daniel S. Bently, who died four years ago. They were the parents of nine children, those named and one daughter, Minnie E., who died in infancy. She joined the Methodist Episcopal Church when 14 years old and remained a member of that church and did much to help others in sickness and suffering.
