DEATH OF DANIEL BENTLEY.
Daniel Bentley was born December 24, 1854; died October 15, 1917, age 63 years, 9 months and 15 days. He was married to Elmina Blanchard May 30, 1875, and to this union was born nine children, four boys and five girls, viz: Minnie, who died at the age of l year and 1 month; Edith Tanksley, of Wichita, Kansas; Pearl Ashford, of LaBelle; Rufus Bentley, of Quincy, and Fannie Abbott, Zora Schofield, Ben, John and Edgar, all of Newark. Eight children and fifteen grandchildren are living. He also leaves one brother, Tine Bentley, of Locust Hill; two sisters, Ellen Mauck, of Newark, and Nannie Blanchard, of Tindall, Missouri. He united with the Methodist Episcopal church at the age of 40 years, and he was always a kind and loving husband and father.
Funeral services were held at the house in the presence of a large concourse of friends and neighbors; conducted by Rev. F. J. Young and interment made in Newark cemetery.
