She began her work with the ASCS in Newton County in February 1945 and transferred to the Webster County Office in 1949. She was promoted to chief clerk, serving in that position until her retirement in March 1985. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 70 years and was a member of Newton Presbyterian Church. She attended First Baptist Church of Eupora and was a faithful member of the TEL Sunday School Class. She loved her family and friends and will be missed by all.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, at First Baptist Church in Eupora. Interment will be in Webster County Memorial Gardens. Oliver Funeral Home of Eupora is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by one daughter, Dianne Mitchell; husband, Donny; one grandson, Mitch Mitchell; two great-grandsons, Walker and Woods Mitchell, all of Eupora; one brother, Curtis R. Monroe and wife Sally of Fulton; a host of nieces and nephews; and her caregivers, Tiffany Guess, Camille Gunn and Maxine Daniels.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers William Monroe, Leon Monroe Sr., James Clark Monroe, Ellis Monroe and Johnny Ray Monroe.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Eupora.
