ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Donald William Bloom, 69, a resident of Alaska for the past 46 years and formerly of Curwensville, died on Wednesday, May 1, 1996, at his residence.
Born March 30, 1927, at the Stewart Clinic in Clearfield, he was the son of Frederick L. and Ann L. (Norris) Bloom.
Mr. Bloom was retired from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers as a diesel mechanic and a linesman. He was an Army veteran of World War II, and was a United Methodist by faith.
He is survived by a daughter, Ruth Ann Lawton of Orlando, Fla.; two grandchildren; two brothers, Ai S. "Bud" Bloom and Frederick J. Bloom, both of Curwensville RD; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Esther R. Grimes in 1972.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc., Curwensville, with the Rev. Robert R. Conley officiating.
Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.
Friends will be received from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. on Saturday and from 10 a.m. until time of service on Sunday at the funeral home.
