DELPHIA MILLER, age 66, of Wawaka, died on Monday, April 30, 2007 at
Parkview Memorial Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Miller was born in Garrett, Floyd County, Kentucky, on February 5, 1941
to Crit and Maggie (Bradley) Handshoe who preceded her death.
She married LeRoy J. Miller on July 4, 1959 in Brimfield, Indiana and he
preceded her death in 1986. Her husband was an Avilla Motor Speedway Hall of
Fame member. She was homemaker and also employed in the past with Essex Wire in
Ligonier for 12 years and McCray Hospital maintenance department in
Kendallville. Mrs. Miller enjoyed playing bingo at the Eagles Lodge in Kendallville.
Survivors include: Two sons, Robert Miller and Ronald Miller both of Wawaka.
Sister and brother-in-law, Glenna and G.C. Johnson of LaOtto. Brother and
sister-in-law, Antha and John Bailey of Auburn. Brother, Garman Handshoe of Fort
Wayne.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Rickey Miller; brothers, Pard,
Arnold and Garnel Handshoe; and sisters, Ruth Bailey, Julie Conley, and Edith
Cook.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 2, 2007, from 4:00-8:00pm at Hite Funeral
Home in Kendallville.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, May 3, 2007 at 1:30pm at Hite Funeral
Home. Officiating the funeral service will be Rev. Leburn Combs. Burial will be
at Orange Cemetery near Rome City.
Casketbearers will be Brian Smith, Randy Miller, Kenny Miller, Larry Steel,
Gary Long and Jeff Conley.
