Gertie Steenhoek of Pella passed away Dec. 7, 1984 at the Pella Community hospital.
The daughter of Walter and Hannah Herwehe Marks, she was born Dec. 15, 1893 in Jasper County near Galesburg. On Feb. 10, 1915, she was united in marriage to James Steenhoek in Galesburg. To this union five children were born.
Gertie lived all her life in the Reasnor and Pella area.
She is survived by her children: Harvey of Pella; Gladys (Mrs. Neal) Woody of Newton; Wilma (Mrs. Logan) Ver Ploeg of Pella; Helen (Mrs. Robert) Marshall of Newton; Carl of Monroe; thirteen grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James; parents; three sisters and one brother.
