Mrs. Walter Marks--Funeral services for Mrs. walter Marks, who died at her home July 29, were conducted from the methodist Episcopal Church Friday at 2:00 by the Rev. J.B. Pritchard of Deep River, a former pastor. Music was furnished by a quartet, comprised of Mrs. Blanche Breen, Mrs. Louis Broderson, Ivan Broderson, and George Tool, with Mrs. Elta DePenning as accompanist. They sang "Only a Dream","City Four-Square", and "Sweetly Resting". As pallbearers: Ernest Rohrdanz, Robert Rohrdanz, Lowell Carpenter, Frank Crow, Naldo Steenhoek, and Dewey Ramer.


Hannah Herwehe was born near Monroe, Dec. 17, 1861, the youngest of a family of eight children and died at her home near Galesburg, Wednesday evening, July 29, 1936 at the age of 74 years.

She was united in marriage to Walter Marks, Sept. 30, 1890 ant to this union 5 children were born, Anna, at home, Mrs. Gertie Steenhoek of Reasnor, Hattie, who died in infancy, Henry at home and Daisy who died in 1929. She united with the belleview Methodist Episcopal Church when a young girl, later transferring her membership to the galesburg M.E. Church of which she was a faithful member all her life.


She was preceded in death by her husband who died in July, 1932, two daughters, her parents, one brother and four sisters.


Surviving relatives include two daughters, one son, five grandchildren and two brothers, Adam and Henry Herwehe of Monroe.
