E. Everett Parkins and his twin sister, Mable Parkins (1899-1911), FAG memorial # 33212963, were born in Ewington, OH in Gallia CO, where their father, The Rev. Frank Parkins was pastoring the Ewington Methodist Church. Everett was boarding at the residence of a sister, Della Parkins King of Columbus, OH in 1920 employed as a "railroader". He would wed Helen Van Horn of Columbus, OH in that same year. To them would be born their only surviving child, Robert E. Parkins in 1921. Two infants, a son and daughter did not survive infancy in 1924 and 1930 and were interred in the Union Cemetery, Columbus Ohio. It is ironic to note that Robert E. Parkins would become the only surviving grandchild of Rev. Frank and Anise Parkins. Everett would become self-employed, owning and operating a roofing business in Columbus, Ohio. Everett Parkins and his wife Helen provided a home for his aging father in the closing years of his life ending in 1945.
