Darlington- Funeral services were conducted from the home Wednesday afternoon for Rowe Williams, who died at his home here early Monday morning.
Williams was born in Darlington, Jan. 24, 1879. During his younger years he helped on a farm, with the exception of six years spent in Minnesota. On July 6, 1900, he was united in marriage with Miss Lillie Schwartz. Five children were born to them; Lester, Wausau; Milburne, Millie, Florence and Gus, who are at home.
In 1924 Williams was elected treasurer of LaFayette county, and was serving his second term when, on account of poor health, he was obliged to turn the duties of the office over to his deputy. Since last January he has been unusually weak, hardly able at times to sit at his desk. A fall about four months ago was the climax. He was never able to return to his office.
He is survived by his wife and children, and also the following brothers and sisters; Robert, Darlington; Grover, Haywarden, Ia.; and John Reedsburg; Mrs. Edward McGinley, Mrs. Lincoln Bryson, Darlington, and Mrs. Earl Bachelor, Rockford, Ill. Internment was made in the Union Grove cemetery, Darlington.
