Claude N. Benedict 81, of Oshkosh, died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 1992. at Mercy Medical Center, Oshkosh.

He was born July 17, 1910, in Oshkosh, a son of Robert and Dora Bennett Benedict.On Jan. 20. 1930, he married Ruth Whippier at Oshkosh.

Mr. Benedict retired from C.R. Meyer Co. in 1968. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Oshkosh, Bricklayers Local 9, and Laborers Local 1086.

Survivors include his wife of Oshkosh; one son, Claude Jr. and his wife Edwina of Oshkosh; one daughter, Lorna Kloetzke of Fond du Lac; four grandchildren, Claudia Block and her husband Larry, Carta Sawall, Andrea Schmitz and her husband Michael, and Patricia Kloetzke; and four greatgrandchildren, (names omitted by contributor).

Preceding him in death were four brothers, Charles, Buster, Burton and Roy Benedict; and two sisters, Ada Bending and Nina Spanbauer.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, Church Avenue, Oshkosh. The Rev. C. Richard Becker will officiate. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Saturday to the time of services at the Church Avenue Chapel. A memorial in his name has been established.
