She was raised on the Liike farm near Melcher and on a farm near Flagler. Nonie graduated from Tracy High School. Through the years she had worked for Charles and Dora Long and at the VA Hospital kitchen. She also worked at Montgomery Street Preschool, taught Sunday school and cooked for Kiwanis. Nonie babysat for her nieces and nephews and for the Vietmier's, Stults', Moats' and Tonda families.
In her spare tie, Nonie enjoyed cooking, baking, mushroom hunting and watching ballgames. She also enjoyed traveling to see friends and family. Her great joy was children.
She passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2009 at the Westridge Nursing Center at the age of 93 years, 9 months and 14 days.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 6 siblings; Lorraine Tille, Lester Jones, Laverne "Kelly" Jones, Levi "Shorty" Jones, Leonard Jones and Louise Rankin.
Those left to honor her memory include her sisters: Lena Bankus, Lucretia Spaur and Lily Sterling (Richard) all of Knoxville; Louretta Redding of Oskaloosa and Luella Parker (Hubert) of Bussey; sisters-in-law, Frances and Inez Jones both of Knoxville and special friends, the Moats family.
