Alma Mae Heick, 89, of West Liberty, died Wednesday, February 17, 1999, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, following a short illness.

Services were held Saturday, February 20, at the West Liberty United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Frank Schultz officiating. Burial was in Oak Ridge Cemetery, West Liberty. A memorial fund ahs been established.

Mrs. Heick was born May 8, 1909 in Cedar County, the daughter of Fred and Minnie (DeMuth) Schneider. She married Henry Heick on OCtober 18, 1930 in Tipton. They farmed all of their lives, starting in Bennett, later in Atalissa and most recently in the West Liberty area.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Robert Heick (wife Shirley) and Ronald Heick (wife Orma), both of West Liberty; a daughter, Patsy Terhune of West Liberty; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Mark Alan Heick, a son-in-law, Lowell Terhune and 12 brothers and sisters, Agnes Kortum, Mabel Jensen, Emma Beiermann, William, Mary LaMaack, Minnie Schroeder, John, Fred, George, Henry, Helen and LeRoy.
