Mrs. Norma Jean Beams, 62, of Springfield died at 8:44 p.m. Tuesday at her residence.
A lifelong resident of Springfield, Mrs. Beams was born Dec. 8, 1926, the daughter of Henry A. and Ida Mae Morris Timm.
She married Harry E. Beams Sr. in 1947.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, John E. Numrick; and one sister, Marie Jane Essex.
She retired in 1981 after 14 years service with the state Department of Revenue.
She was a member of the Church of the Brethren and Sangamon County Genealogical Society.
Surviving are her husband, Harry E.; one daughter, Mrs. Michael (Pamela) Fuller of Powder Springs, Ga.; four sons, Harry E. Beams Jr. of Springfield, David M. Beams of Fort Atkinson, Wis., Dr. Mark A. Beams and Bryan Keith Beams, both of Kalamazoo, Mich.; five grandchildren; one niece; and several cousins.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Staab Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kreston R. Lipscomb officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
