Mr. Theodore Abma, 54, died at home on Thursday afternoon following a lingering illness.

Mr Abma was born at Vommel, Netherlands on November 27, 1887. He came to this country some fifty-two years ago.

When he was 19 years of age he and his father moved to Springfield, S.D. There he lived until four years ago, then he and his family moved to Sioux. Center, Ia.

On March 20, 1913 at Springfield, S.D. he married Johanna Heusinkveld and to this union three daughters were born.

Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Gradus Verrips. Harriet at Sioux Center, and Gladys who came home from California.

Funeral services were held Monday. Feb. 9th, 1942 at 1:00 p.m. from the home and at 1:30 p.m. from the Central Reformed Church. The Reverend Mr. R. Meengs officiated,he was assisted by the Reverend Mr. Vander Schaaf of Alton, Ia. Bearers were Bert Bartels, John Bartels, Clarence Mol, Jake :Koel, Martin Broek and Jerry Dykstra. Burial was in the Sioux Center cemetery.

Mr. Abma was employed at the Wandscheer Mfg.Co. Prior to his coming here he was engaged in farming near Springfield, S.D. He was greatly devoted to his family and a member of the Central Reformed Church.
