M. Abma died at his residence on the Ketel farm a mile and a half north of town last Friday afternoon after a weeks' illness.
Mr. Abma was a man in the prime of life being but little past thirty and was in good health until the twenty-third of August. On that day he was stacking grain and, becoming very warm, unwisely went into the Floyd to cool off.
He was taken, with congestion and inflammation of the bowels and lived just a week.
Deceased was a son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Abma of Orange City and leaves a wife and four small children the youngest being five months old.
Funeral services were conducted from the first reformed church at Orange City by Rev. Ver Duine of Middleburg on Saturday afternoon.
