OLD RESIDENT PASSES AWAY

Mrs. Gavin Ralston Dies At Her Home Near Argyle This Morning WAS PROMINENT WOMAN Had Lived for Fifty Years on the Farm - Funeral Services Held Friday Mrs. Gavin Ralston, one of the oldest residents of the Scotch settlement at Argyle, passed away this morning at 10 o'clock at the home between Argyle and Caledonia.
Her death was caused by a tumor of the brain. She had been ill for about three months.

Jane Breckenridge was a native of Scotland, born in Argyleshire, May 8, 1835. In August 1854 the family emigrated to America and took up their residence in Boone county, near Argyle. She was united in marriage to Gavin Ralston, April 24, 1861.

Her husband died in 1899, but four children, three sons and a daughter, are left to mourn her passing. The children are Gavin, Edward, David and Miss Jane Ralston, all residing near the home. She also leaves four brothers and two sisters. They are Archer Breckenridge of Rockford, Hugh, Edward and Robert Breckenridge of Guilford, and Mrs. William Reid and Miss Isabella Breckenridge of Rockford.

Mrs. Ralston was a member of the Willow Creek Presbyterian church. She was one of the oldest residents in the settlement and a member of one of the most prominent families in that section of the country.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10 o'clock at the home, the Rev. W. I. Alexander, officiating.
